In oceans around the world, boats are destroying coral reefs and endangering species. Our solution is to enhance the protection of these designated areas where boats and people aren't allowed though the deployment of the Angler Wrangler which will act as a deterrent to keep ships out but also notifies the coast guards if a boat is illegally parked.
This jellyfish inspired mechanism will have its “umbrella” expanding and contracting. This will solve the coral reef damage that is happening by the jellyfish carrying nitrogen in its bell/stomach and then for it to release it once it's near the coral. It releasing the nitrogen near the coral will help grow the algae, thus letting the coral thrive again.
We designed the Sea Saviour, which is inspired by the movement of a catfish to solve the problem of coral pollution by bringing kelp into the waters to get rid of the c02 in the water.
The main problem that we are facing is that boat propellers are hitting animals which is killing/injuring them. Our idea is to change boat propellers into a tail so so that they are much safer. We based out design off of the tails of whales. Since the whale tail is both larger, and much slower, if large animals hit them they will not get as injured. Also, they are made with a different material, that is much softer, and instead of being in a quick cutting motion, they are in a slow swimming motion, making them much safer, and even if large animals did hit them they would be fine.
Wally the Wave Watcher is a ocean cleaning robot that collects waste through its mouth by drawing water inside of it then putting it through the filtration system that is built in within its body and then keeping the waste and disposing of the clean water.
